Eating Healthy
One of the most important parts of staying healthy is having a good diet. It is important to watch what you eat because what you eat now effects how your body develops in the future. Part of having a good diet includes eating a wide variety of foods from vegetables and fruits to grains to proteins. The nutrition pyramid is a great guide to decide how much of what to eat, but remember that it is not a concrete plan because everyone’s bodies differ and require different things. The best thing to do is experiment and do some reasearch to figure out what eating habits suit you best. To really get a good idea on how you should eat you may also want to consult a dietician.
When creating a eating plan, remember to consider your health history and any problems you may have had in the past. Also, remember to try to limit fats, sugars, and salts as they should only be consumed sparingly. It is also important to have variety within the food groups. For example, you don’t just want to eat lettuce for your vegetable serving- it is important to diversify and eat a variety of vegetables. It goes the same way for all of the food groups and having a very wide-range of healthy food selections will not only lead to better health, but also a more enjoyable eating experience as you won’t be stuck eating the same, old thing over and over again.
