Yogurt health benefits

Yogurt is an excellent food choice and one of the healthier dairy choices out there, especially with the availability of  fat-free yogurt. The food is made using bacterial cultures and milk products. It is extremely nutritional and can be eaten in combination with other healthy foods such as fruits, which often enhance the taste at the same time too. Yogurt is a very versatile food can can come in many flavors and used in many applications. Among the many Yogurt health benefits are a good source of animal protein (since it comes from milk many of the proteins are the same), calcium, vitamin B-12, vitamin B-2, potassium, and magnesium. It is also a great source of probiotics since it is made with bacteria. Probiotics can help strengthen one’s immune system as the “good bacteria” such as those found in yogurt grow in the digestive tract and essentially compete with “bad”, disease-causing bacteria, making it harder for them to grow and decreasing the chances of disease in the person consuming the yogurt (and along with it the good bacteria). Many doctors recommend yogurt to their patients because of the boost it can give to their immune system. Yogurt is a delicious and healthy food with many health benefits for people of all ages.
